K.O.K. V-Packing seals (vee packings) are precision molded from a variety of fabric and rubber combinations for a wide range of applications. They are supplied in complete sets consisting of a male and female adaptor ring with a number of V-section pressure rings to make up the required depth.
The lips, or chevron, of the pressure rings are designed with an interference fit to seal at low pressure and to respond automatically as pressure increases.
K.O.K. works with our clients to develop V packing oil seals that fit your specific requirements. Get in touch with us to learn more.
Usage Condition Requirements
- For normal use, the female adaptors are usually made in the same material as the pressure rings.
- For heavy duty usage, or where there is an inadequate bearing surface, hard adaptors made with special grades of fabric are supplied.
- For very high pressures or conditions where severe shock loads are likely to be encountered, KOK seals both for glands and pistons, are supplied with polyacetal anti-extrusion rings built into the female adaptors.
